Vickie currently divides her time between duties as a member of the law firm of Frost Brown Todd, LLC, and serving as the President and CEO of Nucleus: Kentucky’s Research and Innovation Center, LLC.
Nucleus was created to help grow innovative, research and technology based companies in the community by providing office, wet and dry laboratory space as well as training and support programs and services.
Vickie has been responsible for securing and administering tax increment financing for the University’s three research parks.
Vickie is a nationally recognized health and health insurance lawyer. She serves as the co-chair of Frost Brown Todd’s Health Law Practice Group and is a certified mediator.
Vickie writes and lectures often on health law topics and has the highest peer review rating from Martindale Hubbell of AV Preeminent.
She has received a number of honors, including selection in The Best Lawyers of America and Kentucky Super Lawyer. Vickie is the past Chair of the ABA Health Law Section and past member of the ABA Standing Committee on Government Affairs.
Vickie was recently selected as the 2013 Woman of Influence by Louisville’s Business First Newspaper and the 2013 Martha Layne Collins Leadership Award for Women Leading Kentucky.
She was awarded the Ernst & Young 2013 Supporter of Entrepreneurship for South Central Ohio and Kentucky, was a finalist for Business First’s 2013 Business Leader of the Year Award and received the GLI 2013 Silver Fleur de Lis Award for fostering technology research and innovation.
She serves on the boards of a number of organizations and has held a number of government appointments, including member of the National Institutes of Health’s Advisory Council for the Human Genome Research Institute and the Advisory Council of the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
She also serves as Governor Beshear’s privacy and security expert on the Kentucky Health Information Exchange Coordinating Council.
